To advance innovation in financial education and foster professionals with a global perspective, Fidelity Securities Investment Trust Co., Ltd. (hereafter Fidelity Investments Taiwan) and the College of Management at Yuan Ze University formally signed a memorandum of understanding and an industry–academia collaboration agreement in November 2025.
Together, they launched the initiative “Enhancing Corporate Social Responsibility and Cultivating the Next Generation in Asset Management,” aiming to establish a long-term model of cooperation through educational resource donations and co-created academic programs.
Through this collaboration, Fidelity Investments Taiwan assisted Yuan Ze University’s College of Management in acquiring the database developed by the University of Chicago Booth School of Business for university-wide teaching and research. This database, a key resource in global financial research, contains comprehensive U.S. stock and bond market data and is widely used by top universities and research institutions for empirical financial market analysis. Its adoption strengthened Taiwan’s teaching and research capacity in finance and enhanced alignment with international academic standards.
The College of Management and Fidelity Investments Taiwan jointly planned and offered courses, benefiting approximately 300 students annually. Integrating theory with practical application, the courses enabled students to directly conduct investment analyses and back-testing using the database, building empirical research capabilities and data literacy while boosting their competitiveness in the financial industry.
In addition to course collaboration, both parties also planned diverse activities such as industry–academia projects and research presentations. These initiatives encouraged students to gain exposure to real-world financial market operations during their studies and strengthened the connection between theory and practice through the guidance and professional insights shared by Fidelity’s portfolio managers.
Chairman Shaojie Li of Fidelity Investments Taiwan stated that Fidelity had long been committed to the development of financial education in Taiwan. Through this collaboration, the company fulfilled its corporate social responsibility by supporting innovation in teaching and research at higher education institutions, helping young students enhance their global financial perspectives and professional capabilities, and contributing to the Financial Supervisory Commission’s goal of cultivating competitive financial talent as Taiwan positions itself as an Asian asset management hub.
President Ching-Jung Liao of Yuan Ze University noted that the partnership demonstrated corporate support and investment in education while showcasing the tangible achievements of industry–academia co-creation. He emphasized that Fidelity’s support elevated the university’s finance-related research and that the integration of coursework with practical operations significantly strengthened students’ analytical abilities and international research capacity, fulfilling the educational objective of combining theory with practice.
Looking ahead, both parties planned to further expand the scope of cooperation, promoting research on asset management, sustainable investing, and financial innovation, while accelerating knowledge transfer and real-world application. This collaboration not only enhanced Yuan Ze University’s influence in financial education but also reflected Fidelity Investments Taiwan’s long-term commitment to local educational development and social sustainability.
