Times Higher Education (THE) announced the THE Asia University Rankings 2026 on the evening of April 23. Yuan Ze University was ranked 176th in Asia, placing it among the top 200 universities across the continent.
Yuan Ze University held a series of events on March 14 to celebrate its 37th anniversary, with this year’s theme centered on “Advanced Technology and Sustainable Development.” Among the highlights of the celebration, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Semiconductor and Environmental Technology Center Building drew the greatest attention, symbolizing a significant step forward in the University’s strategic deployment for semiconductor research and talent cultivation. Ming‑Chu Wang, Deputy Mayor of Taoyuan City, also attended the event to extend congratulations and witness this important milestone.
In the 2026 CommonWealth Magazine University Civic Engagement Awards, Yuan Ze University was awarded second place in the Large Private Universities category. The University was also selected for the University Presidents’ Peer Evaluation on Institutional Performance, highlighting broad recognition of its overall achievements in social responsibility, environmental sustainability, and educational impact.
In response to the growing trend of interdisciplinarity in higher education and rapid industrial transformation, Yuan Ze University announced the implementation of the “University Bachelor System.”
In response to global economic fluctuations and changes in the industrial environment, some students’ family incomes were affected. Yuan Ze University recently announced that it had comprehensively strengthened its student financial aid support system. Eligible students were able to receive up to NT$70,000 in financial assistance, helping them continue their studies with peace of mind and complete their education despite economic uncertainty.
As global higher education accelerated the integration of artificial intelligence into core competencies, Yuan Ze University announced that beginning in the 2026 academic year, “AI Programming Language” would be designated as a mandatory course for all first-year students.
