Professor Chen Tun-Yu, Dean of the College of Electrical and Communication Engineering at Yuan Ze University, led the YZU MISLab team in collaboration with Dr. Kuo Kuan-Hung, Director of Radiology at Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, to develop an AI-assisted acute appendicitis diagnostic system. This innovative system earned the "Smart Healthcare and Health Technology Academic Innovation Award" at the 21st National Innovation Awards.

At the invitation of the Ministry of Education, Dr. Dorit Schumann, President of Germany’s Trier University of Applied Sciences, and Dr. Henrik te Heesen, Vice President, visited Yuan Ze University.
