To inspire students’ creative potential and cultivate a vibrant artistic atmosphere, Yuan Ze University had been hosting the Spring Beats Music Festival since 2011. Held every spring, the festival delivered youthful energy and cultural warmth through music, becoming one of the university’s most iconic arts events.
This year’s 2025 Spring Beats Music Festival took place on the evening of April 24 at the softball field beside Yuan Ze’s Second Building. Co-organized by the Art Center and the Department of Art and Design, the festival featured six distinctive indie bands performing back-to-back. A creative marketplace also accompanied the event, drawing large crowds of faculty and students who came together to enjoy the most romantic rhythms of spring.
With the themes “Music X Youth X Creativity,” the event showcased six indie bands beloved by the younger generation—Collapse on Cue, Zou Xu, Problem Headquarters, Solitude Counseling Room, Traveler, and The Night Watchmen—who took turns igniting the stage from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Each band brought its unique sound, ranging from rock and folk to electronic styles. Audiences swayed to the beats and resonated with the melodies, as the softball field transformed into a music sanctuary woven with dreams and creativity.
In addition to the live performances, a creative market surrounded the venue. Local food trucks, handmade accessories, illustration art, and dessert booths showcased the imaginative talents of students and local creators. The event offered not only an auditory feast but also visual and culinary delights, creating a lively, colorful, and youthful arts carnival.
According to the organizers, the Spring Beats Music Festival had become a signature spring event at Yuan Ze University. It provided students with a platform to express themselves and showcase their creativity, while also promoting the integration of art and everyday life. Music served as a bridge connecting hearts, and through this event, the university hoped to encourage more students to bravely pursue their dreams and shine on a stage where youth and art intertwined.
