The 3rd Yuan Ze Cup High School Dance Competition was recently held at Yuan Ze University’s Yu-Hsiang Hall. With the theme“Technology × Future Generation,” the event attracted nearly 150 dancers from 14 high schools in northern Taiwan. After rounds of spectacular performances, Yu Da High School’s E.M.P. Crew won the championship, while Chi-Ying High School’s Lady Wow and Yong-Ping High School’s Yili claimed second and third place, respectively. The atmosphere was electrifying, with cheers and applause filling the hall.
The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Chia-Ling Hou, Director of the Taoyuan Youth Affairs Bureau; Kun-Nan Wei, Chairman of Fuzhu Technology; Chien-Hsien Lin, Chairman of the Taiwan Artificial Intelligence Association; Ching-Jung Li, Chief of Longping Village, Zhongli District; Meng-Ti Ho, Chairman of the Taoyuan Street Dance Culture and Arts Association; and Cheng-Ju Yu, Director of the Taiwan Street Dance Arts Association. They joined Yuan Ze University President Ching-Jung Liao, Dean of Student Affairs I-Chun Liu, and many faculty members to witness this vibrant youth celebration together.
The competition opened with a performance by Yuan Ze University’s Hip-Hop Dance Club. Each participating team showcased creativity through costume design, choreography, and formation changes, vividly interpreting the theme “Technology × Future Generation.” The stage lighting in blue and white tones created a futuristic atmosphere, while quiz interactions introduced by the host highlighted Yuan Ze University’s strengths in AI education, further energizing the audience. This year, freshmen were specially invited to attend, allowing them to experience an inspiring youth performance on their very first day of university life.
Attending the event for the third consecutive year, Director Chia-Ling Hou remarked that Yuan Ze University had long collaborated with the Youth Affairs Bureau and the Labor Affairs Bureau to host multicultural events, providing young people with platforms to showcase their talents and embodying the “Yuan Ze spirit.” She added that the Taoyuan City Government would continue to expand resources to support youth in pursuing their dreams and stepping onto the global stage.
President Ching-Jung Liao noted that “Technology × Future Generation” was not only the event theme but also a symbol of how youth combined creativity, energy, and technological thinking. Through dance, students cultivated teamwork, concentration, and confidence—values that reflected the core spirit of Yuan Ze University’s education.
This year’s event director, Yuan Ze Hip-Hop Dance Club President Pin-Tsuei Chen, shared that her journey from being a performer in previous years to becoming the organizer this year gave her a new sense of joy and achievement. She expressed gratitude to all club members for their year-long dedication, which ensured the competition’s success.
Yuan Ze University stated that the Yuan Ze Cup High School Dance Competition had become an important cultural event for Taoyuan youth, encouraging students to step out from the virtual world to the real stage. The competition embodied the spirit of “youth inspiring youth,” allowing participants to shine with energy, passion, and courage in chasing their dreams.
