Yuan Ze University will hold its 2025 Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 24, at 6:30 PM, in front of Building V Plaza. The university warmly invites all graduating students and their families, and friends to join this significant milestone and witness a defining moment in life.
This year’s ceremony carries the theme “Beyond / Be Young”, symbolizing that graduation is not an end, but the beginning of a new journey. Approximately 1,800 undergraduate and 598 master’s and doctoral students are expected to graduate this year, including 76 international undergraduate and 112 international graduate students (including students from Mainland China and overseas Chinese students).
The ceremony will feature a special guest, Mr. Cheng-Fang Shen, Chairman of Zhen Ding Technology Holding Limited, who will deliver an inspiring speech drawn from his life experiences. In appreciation of Chairman Shen’s long-standing support of Yuan Ze University, especially in promoting industry-academia collaborations and providing scholarships to nurture future talent, the university will present him with the Yuan Ze Honorary Professorship to recognize his outstanding contributions.
Also invited to attend is Major General Shih-Cheng Lu, President of the Army Academy R.O.C. and a proud alumnus of Yuan Ze’s master’s program in Information Management, to witness this important moment. In addition, Mr. Douglas Hsu, Chairman of Yuan Ze University’s Board of Trustees, will be present to extend his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the graduates as they reach this major life milestone.
The commencement speech will be delivered by Yi-Chen Chen, a senior student in the Department of Applied Foreign Languages and the current president of the Graduation Committee. She will express graduates’ heartfelt gratitude and aspirations in both Chinese and English, showcasing Yuan Ze’s achievements in bilingual education and holistic talent development, adding a warm and touching tone to the event.
This year’s graduation song, titled "Far", takes the form of an upbeat rap, reflecting graduates’ reflections as they embark on a new journey. Leaving behind the familiar campus, teachers, and friends, graduates step into a self-led stage of life—one filled with greater responsibility, yet also more choices and opportunities. Though the future may seem uncertain, the lyrics remind every graduate: “Far is not as far as you think.” Confusion is temporary—confidence and courage will light the way forward. Graduation is not the end, but the beginning of a dream. May every graduate move steadily into their new chapter, embrace opportunities, realize their potential, and forge their brilliant path.
Another highlight of this year’s ceremony will be a musical performance by a team formed by members of Yuan Ze’s Pop Music Club and Recording Club, all of whom are passionate about singing and performing. To help graduates create unforgettable memories, the university has installed three exclusive 2025 Graduation Arches on campus, symbolizing the gateway to a new phase of life. On the day of the ceremony, the Photography Club will also set up a booth beside Building I, offering a free instant photo booth where students can immediately receive digital photo files as a keepsake.
The “Shining Today” Fireworks Show will provide a spectacular conclusion to the event. The dazzling fireworks lighting up the night sky, in the presence of distinguished guests, faculty, and peers, will mark the start of each graduate’s next chapter in life, leaving behind a beautiful and lasting memory.
