Yuan Ze University to Host 2025 NIBES Annual Meeting and International Academic Conference

The College of Management at Yuan Ze University will host the “2025 NIBES Annual Meeting and the DBA Solution Economy Forum” from July 2 to 4, 2025.

The event will gather representatives from 16 top business and economics schools across over 20 countries on five continents. The conference will focus on key topics such as sustainability, digital transformation, and innovation in higher education.

The Network of International Business and Economic Schools (NIBES), established in 1996, comprises 21 member institutions from 21 countries. As a prestigious global alliance, NIBES promotes cross-border collaboration in business education through student and faculty exchanges, co-teaching of international courses, and joint research initiatives. Membership is by invitation only, with one member institution per country. Yuan Ze University has represented Taiwan since 2019 and is hosting the annual meeting for the first time in 2025.

The opening ceremony on July 2 will be officiated by YZU President Ching-Jong Liao and Dean Min-Ping Huang of the College of Management. The first keynote speaker, Jeff Hsu, Chief Innovation Officer of Far Eastern Group and Vice Chairman of U-Ming Marine Transport Corporation, will share the Group’s achievements in ESG and university-industry collaboration. The second keynote will feature Jang-Hwa Leu, Secretary-General of the Chinese National Federation of Industries, who will analyze the trends and challenges of Taiwan’s digital transformation.

In addition to the NIBES Annual Meeting, the 2nd DBA Solution Economy Forum will also be held on the same day. Centered on the theme “Digital Development × Innovative Circular Economy,” the forum invites DBA and EMBA participants nationwide to present papers, aiming to bridge academic and practical insights.

The forum’s highlight, the DBA Summit Keynote, features Professor Se-Hwa Wu of National Chengchi University, a former Minister of Education and former President and Dean at NCCU. He will deliver a keynote titled “The Wisdom of DBA Practice: A Renaissance of Management Education in the AI Era.”

The forum will also feature a cross-institutional dialogue between Yuan Ze University and five other universities (NCCU, NSYSU, NTUST, YunTech, and National Chiayi University), with academic leaders discussing “Strategic Development in DBA Education” and “Future Prospects for DBA Programs,” focusing on how DBA education empowers executive decision-making and corporate innovation.

Dean Huang emphasizes that Yuan Ze University aims to be the most internationally oriented university in Taiwan. Hosting the NIBES Annual Meeting not only reflects YZU’s academic influence but also supports its dual strategic focus on “Internationalization” and “Industry-Academia Co-creation.” The event will further global partnerships, expand student international exposure, and reinforce YZU’s role as a hub for academic-industry dialogue in Taiwan.

Yuan Ze’s College of Management has been AACSB-accredited since 2011 and successfully renewed its accreditation for the third time in 2022. In 2024, it was recognized as an EMI Benchmark College by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education. The College offers bilingual education across all programs, creating an immersive international learning environment and leading Taiwan’s bilingual business education onto the global stage.
