Kaohsiung Sugar Rail Story House Launches Summer “Sugar Rail Adventure” Event

Qishan Station in Kaohsiung has a history spanning over a century, opening in 1915.

Serving as a crucial transportation hub during the Japanese colonial period, this quasi-Western-style building blends Japanese, Victorian, and Gothic architectural styles. Its exquisite exterior has made it one of the most iconic landmarks in the Qishan area. Although Qishan Station fell into silence after train services were discontinued, it has since been restored and transformed into the “Sugar Rail Story House.” Now designated as a Kaohsiung City historic site, it plays an important role in promoting local history and culture.
