Professor Zong-Lin Lee Joined Yuan Ze University’s College of Management, Bringing 35 Years of Professional Experience to Accounting Education

Yuan Ze University’s College of Management welcomed new expertise as Professor Zong-Lin Lee, who had 35 years of auditing experience, officially joined the Accounting Group in the 2025 academic year. He brought extensive professional experience and a passion for teaching to the campus, injecting new strength in both professionalism and educational continuity.

Professor Lee retired from an international accounting firm in October 2024, concluding a 35-year career in practice, including 26 years as a certified public accountant. His professional journey had included multiple managerial and quality oversight positions, such as Audit Department Director, Audit Quality Review Partner, Chief Knowledge Officer, and Chief Risk Officer. Well-versed in corporate governance and audit practice, he was highly respected in the industry.

In addition to his long-term involvement in professional practice, Professor Lee had also been deeply committed to education. Since 1999, he has served as an adjunct instructor in the Department of Accounting and Information Technology at National Chung Cheng University for 26 years. Even with demanding workloads at the firm, he consistently maintained his teaching responsibilities. He also pursued advanced studies for nine years and completed his doctoral degree. In recent years, he has also taught courses at Yuan Ze University and National Taipei University of Business, hoping to inspire more young students through his own experience.

He noted, “If I can help young students set goals and pursue them with determination, influencing the shaping of their future, that would be the greatest joy in life.”

Professor Lee’s courses included the core subject of Auditing, along with related offerings such as Forensic Accounting, Audit Practice, Business Ethics, Sustainability, Accounting and Assurance, Internal Control, and Internal Auditing. He hoped to cultivate professionals equipped with industry insight and ethical awareness through the integration of theory and practice. He believed that “bringing practical experience into the classroom and aligning theory with industry needs is essential to nurturing the talent truly required by the profession.”

In promoting professional development and social responsibility, Professor Lee had also been active in public affairs. He had long participated in the work of the National Federation of Certified Public Accountants Associations and had served as Deputy Chair of the Financial Supervision Regulations Committee and Chair of the Professional Liability Assessment Committee. At the time, he served as Chair of the Practice Review Committee, working to strengthen the CPA practice environment, enhance regulatory frameworks, and elevate overall industry quality and public trust.

The addition of Professor Zong-Lin Lee not only enriched the Accounting Group with valuable practical experience but also symbolized deeper collaboration between academia and industry. Moving forward, he was expected to continue advancing Yuan Ze University’s development in accounting and sustainability governance education, guiding students to find direction as they navigated between theory and practice.
