Stepping into a New World of Stories: Students’ Exhibit and Guided Tours Enhance Reading Skills

Professor Wei-Jen Chen from Yuan Ze University’s General Education Center led students from the Reading Industry Chain: Guided Tours and Practice course in curating an exhibition project inspired by the classic story The Wizard of Oz.

The exhibition, which took place from December 9 to 13 at the university’s Tianhe Bookhouse, was titled The Trail of Oz.

Students were divided into four groups, each focusing on one of the goals pursued by Dorothy, the Lion, the Tin Man, and the Scarecrow. They carefully selected ten books related to their respective themes and engaged in various tasks, including writing exhibit descriptions, designing promotional materials and posters, arranging the exhibition space, and conducting guided tours in class. Through their efforts, they created an immersive experience where visitors could explore the world of literature, connect with the characters’ journeys, and enjoy a multi-sensory interaction with the stories.
