Inaugural Yuan Ze Cup Swimming Competition Attracted Over 100 Teams and Thousands of Spectators

The first-ever 2025 Yuan Ze Cup National Age-Group Short Course Swimming Championship was held with great excitement on June 14 and 15 at the Yuan Ze University Gymnasium. 

The event drew 106 teams from across Taiwan, bringing together a total of 523 athletes competing across multiple age groups and categories. The competition attracted more than 1,000 spectators, including family members, coaches, and the general public. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiastic cheering and applause, showcasing a high level of engagement and sportsmanship.

To ensure a smooth and fair competition, the event organizer—Yuan Ze University’s Physical Education Office—carefully designed the event flow and logistics. A team of professional referees was mobilized to officiate the races, while numerous staff members were deployed to assist with check-in, guide participants, manage venue setup, and maintain safety. The event demonstrated excellent organizational efficiency and professional standards. Not only did the competition provide a valuable platform for swimmers across the country to exchange techniques and experiences, but it also boosted student participation in athletics and enhanced Yuan Ze University’s visibility and influence in the field of sports.

Ching-Hui Lin, Director of the Physical Education Office, stated that the Yuan Ze Cup Swimming Competition aimed to promote the development of swimming in Taiwan and improve athletes' competitive performance. He emphasized that the event reflected the university's commitment to health and physical education. The successful execution of the competition relied on enthusiastic contributions of resources and manpower from various sectors, which not only elevated the quality of the event but also embodied the synergy between industry-academia collaboration and sports philanthropy.

Director Lin expressed special thanks to the Yuanzhi Foundation for its dedication to sports education and young athletes, as well as to Yuan Ze University for providing the venue and administrative support, serving as a strong foundation for the event.

He concluded that Yuan Ze University would continue strengthening partnerships with all sectors and make the Yuan Ze Cup Swimming Competition an annual flagship event. The goal would be to establish it as a vital platform for national athletes striving for excellence and to lay a solid foundation for talent cultivation and the promotion of athletic culture in Taiwan.
