YZU Celebrates 181 International Graduates with Presence of Foreign Representatives in Taiwan

Yuan Ze University (YZU) hosted its 2025 International Students Graduation Ceremony on May 24, bidding a warm and heartfelt farewell to 181 international graduates from over 30 countries.

The event was graced by the attendance of foreign envoys and representatives from diplomatic offices in Taiwan, including the Embassy of the Kingdom of Eswatini, the Embassy of Saint Lucia, the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office, and the Thailand Trade and Economic Office, highlighting international support for the graduating class.

YZU President Ching-Jong Liao addressed the graduates with words of encouragement, emphasizing the importance of self-discipline as a foundation for long-term success. “Through perseverance and personal commitment, you can shape your future and continue to move forward,” he said. The ceremony also featured the traditional tassel-turning ritual and group photos with distinguished guests to mark this memorable milestone.

As a university deeply committed to international education and talent retention, YZU continues to foster a vibrant multicultural environment. Currently, 12.35% of its student population comes from more than 50 countries, and approximately 10% of its faculty members are international, reflecting the university’s dedication to global engagement and academic diversity.

Situated in Taiwan’s technology hub of Taoyuan, YZU plays an active role in helping foreign students transition into careers in Taiwan. The university has established a comprehensive talent retention program that supports students from enrollment to employment. This includes bilingual career counseling, industry-aligned curriculum design, and intensive Mandarin language training to ensure both academic and professional development.

A recent survey revealed that 62.6% of YZU’s international alumni expressed a willingness to stay and work in Taiwan after graduation, underscoring the effectiveness of these initiatives.
