The first batch of doctoral graduates from Yuan Ze University’s DBA program is announced, and cross-border leaders are spreading their wings and transforming again!

In an era of transformation in higher education and growing demand for on-the-job training, Yuan Ze University's Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program has gone through five years of development and welcomed its first batch of doctoral graduates this month.

This is not only an important milestone in the program, but also an innovative example of how Taiwan's advanced management education combines industry and academia with practice. It is worth mentioning that Yuan Ze University saw the importance of "on-the-job training" as early as its founding, and was the first university in Taiwan to offer an EMBA program. From EMBA to DBA, Yuan Ze has always been at the forefront of practice-oriented higher education, continuously building a professional platform suitable for the further study of senior corporate managers.

On May 24, 2025, Yuanzhi Management College held the first "DBA Graduation Tea Party and Graduation Ceremony" with the theme of "Spreading Wings and Transforming Again", symbolizing the transformation of the doctoral learning process and the opening of a new chapter in the future. The event was opened by Vice President Xu Zezhi, and many distinguished guests and professors attended to witness this glorious moment of integration of high-level practice and academics. Yuan Ze University Vice President Xu Zezhi said: "A doctorate is not the end, but a new starting point for responsibility. The achievements of the two graduates today are not only personal honors, but also represent the power of management knowledge from academia to society and from practice to a higher level."

The first batch of graduates includes Dr. Zheng Ruming, the 2013-2014 district director of Lions Clubs International District 300G2, and Dr. Liao Yifang, the supervisor of the Nursing Department of Taoyuan Hospital, Ministry of Health and Welfare. Both of them insisted on completing their doctoral studies despite their busy senior positions, demonstrating their dedication to knowledge and the practice of social mission. The topics of their papers span organizational transformation, leadership development, healthcare system innovation and sustainable management, reflecting the core spirit of the DBA program "Action-oriented knowledge × Leadership Re-evolution".

Yuan Ze DBA is the only on-the-job doctoral program in management offered outside of National Chengchi University and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology in northern Taiwan. It is led by Professor Huang Minping, Dean of the School of Management, and integrates more than 60 faculty members and adopts a small-class teaching design. The course design emphasizes industry-university integration and cross-border discussions. Many courses are taught by 2 to 3 professors, creating a high-density learning environment where theory and practice are intertwined. Dean Huang emphasized: "On-the-job education is an indispensable part of the development of higher education. The DBA is the most concrete practice of our School of Management for 'lifelong learning of high-level talents'."

In addition to the medical and community leaders who graduated this time, previous DBA students also come from diverse industry backgrounds, including Far Eastern Group, listed companies, key roles and successors in digital transformation, etc., reflecting the business community's high demand for "deepening of practical knowledge."

This year (the 114th academic year), DBA enrollment has also been enthusiastic, demonstrating the industry's high recognition and expectations for this program. In the future, the college will continue to expand dialogue and cooperation with enterprises and organizations to build a practical doctoral community that connects high-level talents, cross-domain research and social contributions, so that knowledge can truly become a driving force for industrial innovation.
