YZU and M-Power Information Launched a New Era of AI-Based Accounting Practice

On December 3, Yuan Ze University signed a donation agreement with M-Power Information Co., Ltd. for the implementation of the GCRS (Group Consolidated Reporting System). A certificate presentation and system demonstration were also held, marking the beginning of a new chapter in collaboration between academia and AI-driven accounting practice.

The GCRS system supported the university in instructional and research applications related to consolidated reporting, education, intra-group transaction elimination, audit reports, and group financial analysis. By using real-world project scenarios, the system helped students develop data-driven thinking and professional judgment. In response to rapid advancements in the AI era, the integration of system-based instructional tools strengthened students’ data literacy and decision-making skills, further advancing industry-academia collaboration and knowledge dissemination.

YZU President Ching-Jung Liao stated that GCRS was not merely a tool but a platform that transformed frontline industry practice into models that were “teachable, learnable, and researchable.” He noted that the system aligned with the university’s strategic development in AI, internationalization, and interdisciplinary innovation, accelerating improvements in both teaching and research outcomes.

“We hope students will not only use technology, but use it well, responsibly, and meaningfully—applying what they learn from the classroom to real-world contexts,” Liao emphasized. He further mentioned that the system had been incorporated into the university’s existing cybersecurity and personal data compliance frameworks, ensuring secure access authorization and ethical data governance in teaching and research.

Chairman Chin-Long Hsu of M-Power Information highlighted that GCRS had previously received an international digital innovation award and had been adopted by over 400 listed companies in Taiwan. The system featured multi-source data integration, automated consolidation, fully traceable consolidation workpapers, and auditing verification functions, enabling a high-fidelity simulation of enterprise scenarios. It allowed faculty and students to gain hands-on experience throughout the full workflow—from data preparation and elimination entries to report generation and decision analysis—helping cultivate digital accounting competencies aligned with industry needs.

Hsu also expressed hopes for long-term collaboration with YZU in areas such as curriculum design, internship placement, and joint research projects, creating an ecosystem of shared knowledge, industry feedback, and co-developed case studies.

Yuan Ze University continued to demonstrate strong research performance and social impact, ranking 301–400 globally in the 2025 THE Impact Rankings. The university also promoted character development and social responsibility through experiential learning, receiving recognition from the Ministry of Education and several sustainability awards. With this system donation serving as a starting point, YZU planned to build a case-based teaching archive and open educational resources to further advance talent development and deepen industry-academia engagement.

M-Power Information had long been dedicated to providing enterprise financial and management information solutions while actively engaging in public service and academic collaboration. Moving forward, the university planned to launch faculty training, modularized teaching frameworks, capstone projects, industry-linked competitions, and internship matching programs to enhance students’ employability and interdisciplinary capabilities.

YZU and M-Power are committed to working together to promote higher education innovation and industry transformation, jointly building a mutually beneficial ecosystem for future development.
