YZU Department of Social and Policy Sciences Alumni Association Elected New Board Members; Hsin Wei Lin Assumed Office as Third Term President

The Alumni Association of the Department of Social and Policy Sciences at Yuan Ze University held its First General Assembly of the Third Term on March 28, bringing together alumni from different graduating classes in a lively and engaging atmosphere.

In addition to reports on association affairs and open exchanges of opinions, the assembly completed the election of new board members and officers. Hsin‑Wei Lin, director of the Aires Private Infant Care Center in Taoyuan, was elected as the President of the Third Term, marking a new stage of development for the Alumni Association.

Since its establishment, the Alumni Association of the Department of Social and Policy Sciences has been committed to strengthening alumni connections, promoting resource sharing and cross-disciplinary collaboration, and enhancing interactions between alumni and the department. During the terms of the founding and second-term president, Yung‑Chen Huang, the association actively advanced institutional development and organizational operations, laying a solid foundation. Through diverse activities, alumni participation and organizational cohesion were significantly enhanced, making important contributions to the long-term development of the association.

Observing the career development of alumni over the years, graduates have been actively engaged across a wide range of fields, including public affairs, social services, business, academic research institutions, government agencies, education systems, as well as medical and social welfare organizations. This demonstrated strong cross-disciplinary integration and diverse career pathways, reflecting the long-term effectiveness of the department in cultivating professional talent.

The Department of Social and Policy Sciences at Yuan Ze University noted that its curriculum was centered on sociology and policy sciences, emphasizing institutional analysis and policy planning while integrating practical training in social work. This approach aimed to cultivate students with both theoretical foundations and practical expertise. The outstanding performance of alumni across various sectors has become a key indicator of the department’s educational achievements.

Newly elected President Hsin‑Wei Lin expressed her gratitude for the trust and support of fellow alumni. She stated that the Alumni Association would continue to serve as an important platform for exchange and collaboration, promoting experience sharing and resource integration, while further expanding its social impact. She emphasized that the presidency was not only an honor but also a collective achievement of all alumni, and expressed her hope that alumni would actively participate in future activities to jointly advance the association’s development.

The Department of Social and Policy Sciences also stated that it would continue to strengthen cooperation with the Alumni Association. Through diversified exchanges and integrated resources, the department aimed to reinforce connections between current students and alumni, enhance support and mentorship functions, and build a more cohesive and influential alumni community.
