The College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Yuan Ze University held the “Whimsical AI Prompt Poster Contest” in response to the advent of the artificial intelligence (AI) era. The college launched a new mandatory course, "Applications of Digital Humanities," to equip students with computational thinking skills and practical experience in generative AI. At the end of the semester, the course featured the “Whimsical AI Prompt Poster Contest” as a creative and challenging activity. After understanding the principles of generative AI, students were tasked with entering normal human language prompts to create posters. The winning entries were the most absurdly amusing posters highlighting AI capabilities' limitations.
Professor Chen Tun-Yu, Dean of the College of Electrical and Communication Engineering at Yuan Ze University, led the YZU MISLab team in collaboration with Dr. Kuo Kuan-Hung, Director of Radiology at Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, to develop an AI-assisted acute appendicitis diagnostic system. This innovative system earned the "Smart Healthcare and Health Technology Academic Innovation Award" at the 21st National Innovation Awards.
