The Department of Art and Design at Yuan Ze University held the “YZU Art & Design 24HR Open” workshop and exhibition, inviting artist Yu-Ting Lin as the instructor. Lin, whose works had been exhibited in and collected by various art museums, actively collaborated with schools and art institutions to promote co-creation projects.
Through the use of blueprint imaging techniques, she explored the stories embedded within exhibition spaces and demonstrated rich creative energy.
In this event, the entire department — faculty and students alike — came together to complete the “Department Portrait Project” within 24 hours, showcasing the collective creative power that transcended grade levels and disciplines.
The workshop revolved around the core concept “WHO’S ADYZU,” combining portrait silhouettes with blueprint imaging techniques to connect diverse participants. It embodied the department’s spirit of co-creation and artistic diversity. Inspired by previous students’ cyanotype works, the activity aimed to expand students’ artistic materials and modes of expression, further deepening their creative perspectives.
The exhibition presented a series of collective portrait works created during the workshop. Visitors experienced the unique visual language of the blueprint imaging process and witnessed the interweaving of silhouettes and cyanotypes, reflecting the shared artistic energy and collective identity of the Department of Art and Design.
This workshop and exhibition not only enhanced communication between faculty and students but also embodied the department’s commitment to cross-disciplinary collaboration and artistic experimentation, allowing both the campus community and the public to appreciate the department’s distinctive collective spirit and creative strength.
