Vice President Chiuling Lu Returned to Yuan Ze University’s College of Management — Inspiring New Educational Momentum through Financial Expertise

Yuan Ze University’s College of Management welcomed a familiar face as Professor Chiuling Lu returned to the university to continue her teaching and research endeavors while assuming the position of Vice President.

Professor Lu earned her Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Connecticut in the United States. She had previously served as the President of Takming University of Science and Technology and held teaching positions at National Chung Cheng University, National Chung Hsing University, Yuan Ze University, National Chengchi University, and National Taiwan University, demonstrating a solid academic foundation and extensive administrative experience.

Professor Lu’s research specialties encompass corporate finance and capital structure, sustainable finance and ESG investment, as well as real estate investment and financing. Her long-term academic focus had been on exploring how financial theories could effectively respond to market dynamics and the needs of corporate decision-making. She emphasized that sustainable finance had become a central theme in corporate development, noting that investment evaluation should not only pursue returns but also strike a balance between social responsibility and long-term value.

Reflecting on her return to Yuan Ze University, Professor Lu expressed that it was not merely a career transition but a continuation of her original aspiration for education. She remarked, “Yuan Ze places great emphasis on interdisciplinary integration and the balance between theory and practice. It is the ideal environment to inspire students’ thinking and drive innovation. Returning to the College of Management feels like opening a new chapter of compounded growth in my life’s investment.”

In her teaching, Professor Lu encouraged students to step outside their comfort zones, develop data literacy, and embrace cross-disciplinary thinking, viewing learning as a long-term investment. She stated, “The returns of learning may not appear immediately, but they will become the most valuable assets in one’s life.” She also stressed that education is not merely the transmission of knowledge, but a process of walking alongside students and awakening their curiosity and problem awareness. Thus, she continuously promoted curricula closely aligned with real-world markets and industry-academia collaboration, enabling students to apply theory in practice and bring real-world issues back into the classroom.

Guided by her principles of professionalism, passion, and integrity, Professor Lu aspired to work with the faculty and students of the College of Management to achieve a balanced integration of knowledge, practice, and humanity, and to further strengthen the college’s influence in the fields of finance and management.
