Professor Mikoyu You of Yuan Ze University Won the Award of Excellence at the “Sustainable Teaching Practice and Achievement Competition.”

Professor Mikoyu of the College of Management, Yuan Ze University, stood out in the 2025 Sustainable Teaching Practice and Achievement Competition, where she was awarded the Award of Excellence, demonstrating her outstanding achievements and strong commitment to sustainability education.

The 2025 Sustainable Teaching Practice and Achievement Competition was jointly organized by the CTCI Education Foundation and the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE). The competition aimed to encourage university faculty members to promote the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through innovative course design and action-oriented teaching initiatives, and to address global sustainability challenges with concrete outcomes.

The competition attracted enthusiastic participation from faculty members across universities nationwide and was highly competitive. Entries were evaluated based on three key criteria—curriculum innovation, integration of sustainability issues, and practical implementation—through both preliminary and final review stages. Only 20 faculty members advanced to the final round. With her long-term dedication to interdisciplinary curriculum design, hands-on practice, and student-centered guidance, Professor You received unanimous recognition from the review panel and successfully earned the Award of Excellence, bringing further distinction to Yuan Ze University.

Professor, you had long been committed to advancing sustainability education. By integrating innovative teaching methods with international resources, she guided students from local practice toward global action. In 2024, she represented Yuan Ze University by presenting a report in the Blue Zone at COP29, showcasing the university’s academic strengths in global sustainability issues. In August 2025, she was invited to the University of Oxford to offer a sustainability course, further deepening international educational exchange. She was also a recipient of the 2026 Fulbright EMI Overseas Professional Training Program at the University of California, San Diego.

In terms of practical engagement, the Bajau Humanitarian Relief Project, led by Professor You, combined humanitarian care with environmental sustainability, helping marginalized communities improve their livelihoods while gaining opportunities for ecological education. The project’s outcomes also attracted international attention. In addition, in March 2025, she participated in the 2025 Smart Zero-Carbon Cities Forum organized by a European innovation organization, actively promoting international collaboration and policy dialogue, and continuously expanding Yuan Ze University’s global influence in sustainability-related issues.

The College of Management at Yuan Ze University stated that Professor You’s achievement not only affirmed her years of dedication to sustainability education and practice-oriented teaching but also highlighted the College’s concrete progress in realizing its vision of “Intelligence × Sustainability.” Looking ahead, the College would continue to deepen interdisciplinary curriculum development, strengthen collaboration with international sustainability organizations, and cultivate a new generation of talents equipped with global perspectives, innovative capabilities, and a strong commitment to sustainable practice, thereby contributing lasting momentum to Taiwan and the international community.
