Yuan Ze University Computer Science Faculty and Students Won Outstanding Student Paper Award for 6G Low-Earth-Orbit Satellite Network Research

Chen-Peng Chiu, a master’s student, and Chun-Chi Fang, an undergraduate researcher from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Yuan Ze University, received the Outstanding Student Paper Award for their paper entitled “An Energy-Efficient Routing Mechanism Based on Graph Attention Network-Assisted Multi-Agent Double Deep Q-Networks in Low-Earth-Orbit Satellite Networks” at the MC 2026 & WASN 2026 Conference on Mobile Computing and Wireless, Ad Hoc, and Sensor Networks. The research was conducted under the supervision of Yi-Huai Hsu.

MC & WASN served as an important academic exchange platform in the fields of mobile computing, wireless networking, and sensor networks. The award-winning research focused on 6G low-Earth-orbit satellite networks and integrated Graph Attention Networks (GAT) with multi-agent deep reinforcement learning to develop the GMERS intelligent routing mechanism. The proposed approach addressed challenges such as limited satellite energy resources and transmission delays, thereby improving the efficiency and stability of data transmission.

Yi-Huai Hsu stated that the research demonstrated the students’ ability to integrate theoretical analysis with practical applications and highlighted the development potential of artificial intelligence technologies in 6G low-Earth-orbit satellite networks. He emphasized that academic research should not only expand professional knowledge but also focus on solving real-world problems, encouraging students to continue exploring new ideas and pursuing innovation.

Chen-Peng Chiu and Chun-Chi Fang shared that the research process required repeated efforts in model design, software implementation, and simulation validation. They noted that receiving the award was a meaningful recognition of their research achievements and expressed their gratitude to Yi-Huai Hsu for his guidance and support throughout the research process.
