Yuan Ze University and WiCMA Co-hosted the “2025 Wireless Communication Measurement Technology Expo”

To promote technological exchange in wireless communication measurement and system design, Yuan Ze University’s Communications Research Center and the Wireless Communication Measurement Alliance (WiCMA) jointly hosted the “2025 WiCMA Wireless Communication Measurement Technology Expo” on Friday, October 31, at Room 71006, 10th Floor, Building 7 of Yuan Ze University.

The event brought together experts and research teams from both academia and industry, domestically and abroad, to showcase the latest developments in communication measurement technologies, system design methodologies, and educational applications, highlighting the innovative energy driving advancements in wireless communication.

The expo centered on the theme “Innovative Applications of SDR, FPGA, and Measurement Technologies”, focusing on the integration and application of Software Defined Radio (SDR) and Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA). Key topics included communication system prototyping, Digital Pre-Distortion (DPD) algorithms, MATLAB–FPGA development workflows, and high-level measurement platform integration. In addition to showcasing technical achievements, the event featured live demonstrations and expert-led discussions, allowing participants to experience innovative technologies up close.

Among the exhibits, Channal Technology presented “Rapid Prototyping with SDR” and “SDR-Based Measurement Instruments in Education.” The first demonstrated how SDR platforms could accelerate communication algorithm development and system verification, while the latter shared how SDR technology was integrated into teaching and laboratory courses to create flexible and cost-effective educational measurement platforms.

The laboratory led by Professor Chun-Hung Teng showcased a Digital Pre-Distortion Processing System for Beamforming Signals, proposing an innovative solution for beamforming system design that effectively compensated for the nonlinear distortion of power amplifiers, thereby improving overall system performance.

In addition, Titan Technology introduced “Developing Custom FPGA/SoC Boards and Reference Designs Using MATLAB,” demonstrating an integrated workflow from model creation to hardware deployment. Herzen Technology combined Rohde & Schwarz (R&S) high-end measurement instruments with RFSoC/SDR platforms, presenting state-of-the-art testing and research hardware solutions that provided strong technical support for communication R&D.

According to Yuan Ze University’s Communications Research Center, the WiCMA Wireless Communication Measurement Technology Expo served not only as a platform for technological demonstration but also as an important bridge between academia and industry. With the rapid development of 5G, 6G, and smart IoT technologies, the importance of communication measurement and system design has become increasingly evident. The event aimed to inspire cross-disciplinary innovation through interactive exhibitions and demonstrations, fostering technological breakthroughs and industrial advancement in Taiwan’s wireless communication field.

The event was open to the public free of charge, welcoming scholars, industry professionals, and students to participate and explore the future landscape of wireless communication.
