Public Art Enters the Community! Yuan Ze University Collaborates to Create a Shilin Landmark

Led by Assistant Professor Luo Chia-Hui from Yuan Ze University's Department of Art and Design, in collaboration with the renowned public art company Dada Creative, the “Guardianship and Strength: The Doves” public art series was officially unveiled at the Shilin Police Precinct in Taipei. The series, presented as large kinetic sculptures, cleverly interpreted the mission of police to safeguard the community and foster harmony within the neighborhood.

Professor Luo Chia-Hui, who has long focused on public art, is known for transforming local cultural symbols into interactive artistic expressions. This project incorporated the dove imagery from the police emblem and elements of the Shilin district map, creating a striking visual representation of the police's protective role. It showcased a profound integration of art with local culture. The head of Renyong Village expressed that these artworks brought a fresh highlight to the neighborhood, becoming a distinctive local feature that filled the community with pride and joy.
