The AI Wave Swept Across Campus: Yuan Ze University Partnered with nuva to Shape New Perspectives on Future Careers

In response to the rapid rise of generative AI and the profound transformations it brought to learning and career development, Yuan Ze University held the “nuva AI Campus Festival – Yuan Ze University Edition (Taoyuan Stop)” on May 13. As part of a nationwide campus tour, the nuva team visited the University to engage students through career experience activities, keynote speeches, and industry–government–academia dialogues, guiding them to rethink learning pathways, career preparation, and essential competencies in the AI era.

The event was organized by the Yue-Ren Society of Yuan Ze University and was supervised by Huai-Jie Chen, Director of the Career Development Office, College of Management, demonstrating the University’s concrete efforts in integrating student communities, career guidance, and AI-related initiatives on campus.

The program was conducted in two phases. In the morning, Career Micro-Stations were set up at the plaza in front of the University Library, offering one-on-one consultations on AI tool applications, résumé optimization, job search directions, and career exploration. In the afternoon, a themed forum was held at Yen Kung Hall, 3rd Floor of Building V, featuring a keynote speech by Shang-Che Lin, Founder of nuva. Under the theme “In the Age of AI, What Remains Human?”, the forum invited Chun-Hui Tu, Deputy Director of the Taoyuan City Government Youth Affairs Bureau, and Hsiang-Hsun Wu, Director of the Division of Continuing Education and faculty member of the International Business Group, College of Management, Yuan Ze University, to engage in an industry–government–academia dialogue. Discussions explored talent demands and future challenges in the AI era from the perspectives of education, industry, and youth development.

Yuan Ze University had long emphasized innovation, interdisciplinarity, and industry–academia collaboration. In the face of the structural changes brought by generative AI to higher education and career development, the University not only encouraged students to become proficient in AI tools but also highlighted the cultivation of core competencies such as problem awareness, information evaluation, interdisciplinary integration, and practice-based validation.

In his opening remarks, Ching-Jung Liao, President of Yuan Ze University, stated that as AI became increasingly capable of providing answers, the truly critical human abilities were no longer merely about obtaining answers, but about asking the right questions, judging the authenticity of information, and understanding the context and limitations behind data and technologies.

During the panel discussion, Hsiang-Hsun Wu also pointed out that young people in the AI era should learn early how to co-create with AI, transforming AI applications into concrete and deliverable outcomes—especially practice-based works that could be tested and validated in the market. He emphasized that beyond mastering foundational knowledge, students should actively engage in real-world application contexts through internships, competitions, and hands-on projects to accumulate empirical capabilities and interdisciplinary experience.

Yuan Ze University stated that through the nuva AI Campus Festival, the University further strengthened the campus atmosphere for AI learning and demonstrated the College of Management’s proactive efforts in promoting AI literacy, career development, and interdisciplinary practice. The initiative aimed to assist students in building forward-looking judgment and competitiveness, enabling them to navigate and thrive in the rapidly evolving AI era.
