Yuan Ze University Received the Ministry of Education’s “Outstanding” Rating in Student Counseling Evaluation

The Ministry of Education recently announced the results of the “2025 Evaluation of Student Counseling Services in Higher Education Institutions,” in which Yuan Ze University received the highest rating of “Outstanding.” The university demonstrated excellent performance in areas including mental health promotion, campus crisis counseling, international student support, and career development, reflecting comprehensive achievements in student counseling services.

According to the Ministry of Education’s evaluation committee, Yuan Ze University had long promoted the concept of “whole-person counseling with campus-wide support.” Under the leadership of the president, the university had integrated resources across units to establish a comprehensive student support system. During the 2024 academic year, the university organized activities related to mental health, life education, and emotional education, attracting more than 5,300 participants. At the same time, through a well-developed faculty advising system and early warning mechanisms, the university enhanced the effectiveness of faculty-student engagement, ensuring that students received timely assistance and support.

In terms of campus safety and crisis management, Yuan Ze University established a three-tier prevention system for self-harm, along with campus safety reporting, emergency counseling, and cross-unit crisis response mechanisms. Through regular drills and standardized procedures, the university strengthened its capacity for immediate response and post-crisis care.

The Ministry of Education also recognized the university’s emphasis on privacy and safety in counseling spaces. In addition to receiving a subsidy of NT$3 million to improve counseling facilities, the university proactively invested an additional NT$2 million to plan new counseling spaces, creating a safer and more supportive campus environment.

Regarding career development, Yuan Ze University integrated corporate resources, career counseling, and interdisciplinary team services to help students align with industry needs at an early stage, establishing a comprehensive support model that spanned from psychological support to career planning. Furthermore, in response to the development of an internationalized campus, the university deployed 14 full-time counseling staff with foreign language proficiency during the 2024 academic year, providing international students with diverse services in life adaptation, academic development, and psychological support.

Yuan Ze University stated that student development and mental health had always been at the core of university education. Receiving the Ministry of Education’s “Outstanding” recognition not only affirmed the university’s student counseling efforts, but also represented its continued commitment to supporting and caring for students. In the future, the university would continue to enhance mental health promotion, smart counseling services, and support mechanisms for international students, striving to create a safer, more caring, and globally competitive campus environment.
