Amid the wave of globalization, film and television works have continuously crossed national boundaries and been reinterpreted and recreated within different cultural contexts. On May 26, the Department of Chinese Linguistics and Literature at Yuan Ze University invited Do-Kyung Kwon, Professor of the Department of Chinese at Pusan National University, to deliver a lecture titled “How Were Stories Translated in the Age of Globalization? Cultural Translation and Representation through Film Remakes.”
In response to the information security challenges posed by the rapid advancement of digital transformation, cloud services, and artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity has become a critical factor in sustainable business operations. The “Talent Development Seminar,” organized by the Industry-Academia Collaboration Alliance for Business Management and Development at Yuan Ze University, was held on May 29 at Building III of the University.
To promote diverse learning and practical self-defense skills, the General Education Center at Yuan Ze University invited professional Wing Chun instructor Yung-Cheng Chen to deliver a lecture on May 30. Hosted by Feng-Ying Hu of the General Education Center, the session guided faculty members and students to gain an in-depth understanding of the spirit and practical applications of Wing Chun through both theoretical instruction and hands-on experience.
The Department of Chinese Linguistics and Literature at Yuan Ze University held the Practical Project Achievement Exhibition for the Class of 2023 on May 20, themed “Textual Awakening — When Stories Stepped Beyond the Page.”
When Chinese martial arts were mentioned, most people associated them with chivalrous figures in novels or kung fu scenes in films. However, in contemporary humanities research, martial arts were not only a form of skill, but also an important lens for observing cultural inheritance, social transformation, and transregional exchange.
