As the Lunar New Year approached, Yuan Ze University's Student Affairs Office, in collaboration with the Life Counseling Division and the Life Vanguard Volunteer Team, organized the "Year-End Warmth: Spreading Love Far and Wide" Spring Festival Care Event. Yuan Ze faculty, staff, and students joined local elders from the Zhongli community to write spring couplets together, transforming warmth and blessings into the fragrance of ink and adding a touch of heartfelt sentiment and cultural significance to the year-end festivities.
The College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Yuan Ze University held the “Whimsical AI Prompt Poster Contest” in response to the advent of the artificial intelligence (AI) era. The college launched a new mandatory course, "Applications of Digital Humanities," to equip students with computational thinking skills and practical experience in generative AI. At the end of the semester, the course featured the “Whimsical AI Prompt Poster Contest” as a creative and challenging activity. After understanding the principles of generative AI, students were tasked with entering normal human language prompts to create posters. The winning entries were the most absurdly amusing posters highlighting AI capabilities' limitations.
Yuan Ze University actively promotes bilingual education at the grassroots level and has received NT$10.1 million in funding from the Ministry of Education's Bilingual Digital Study Buddy Program.
Students and faculty from Yuan Ze University’s College of General Studies course “Social Care” collaborated with the Spinal Cord Injury Potential Development Center to host the “Warm December Christmas Poinsettia Charity Sale Carnival” at Zhongli Galaxy Plaza.
On the evening of December 20, Yuan Ze University hosted the “2024 International Christmas Ball,” marking the first time the event was held on campus. Over 200 faculty members, students, and community residents joined the festivities.
On December 7, Yuan Ze University's College of General Studies held a hands-on micro-course titled “The World of Martial Arts: The History and Techniques of Wing Chun Kung Fu.” Wing Chun Master Lu, the third disciple of Ip Man, was the instructor. Master Lu introduced students to the historical origins and practical techniques of Wing Chun Kung Fu in an engaging and accessible manner, bringing the culture of traditional martial arts to the campus.
On December 23, Yuan Ze University hosted a campus visit for high school students, with participation from the Comprehensive High School Department of Zhongli Commercial High School. The Department of Chinese Language and Literature led a creative and literary activity centered on interpreting traditional fortune poems, stimulating the students' imagination and critical thinking skills.
