Yuan Ze University had long been dedicated to advancing industry-academia-research collaboration, focusing on five major areas: smart manufacturing, healthcare, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and green sustainability.
By actively linking domestic and international industrial resources, the university demonstrated outstanding achievements in technological research and development as well as practical impact, becoming a key driver of industrial innovation and transformation.
In smart manufacturing, Yuan Ze partnered with Zhen Ding Technology to establish a joint R&D center, promoting smart factories and big data applications. The Communication Research Center set up the WiCMA advanced measurement platform to support wireless communication technology testing and development. Meanwhile, the AI Center integrated faculty expertise and technical resources, working with industry leaders such as CSC, Hon Hai, and Qualcomm to focus on machine learning and AI applications, showcasing solid research capabilities.
Addressing the challenges of an aging society and rising healthcare needs, Yuan Ze collaborated with Far Eastern Memorial Hospital to develop optical coherence tomography conversion technology and partnered with Shih Ta Chemical to co-develop smart care mattresses. Together with Qualcomm, the university also developed early detection devices for dementia. The Senior Welfare Technology Center undertook projects commissioned by the National Health Research Institutes, creating innovative products to support independent living for the elderly, thereby practicing human-centered technology and ESG-driven innovation.
In response to the global push for net-zero emissions and green energy, Yuan Ze worked with Far Eastern New Century to advance fuel cell membrane electrode assembly (MEA) process optimization and hydrogen energy applications, promoting clean energy innovations. Through its Environmental Technology Research Center, the university provided precision testing services, covering ultratrace pollutants and contaminants from high-tech industries, focusing on high-accuracy testing and sustainable manufacturing. Since 2013, Yuan Ze has cooperated with the Ministry of Economic Affairs on industrial park upgrading projects, and in 2023, it was certified as an “Industry Low-Carbon and Smart Counseling Institution.” Within two years, it had guided 19 enterprises toward digital transformation and carbon management.
Facing rapid semiconductor industry growth and critical talent shortages, Yuan Ze established the top-level university-wide Semiconductor Research Center in the 2025 academic year. The center focused on third-generation semiconductor technologies, advanced packaging, and AI applications. The university also partnered with TSMC to launch five specialized semiconductor programs, becoming one of the few private universities in Taiwan with deep collaboration with TSMC, thus creating a comprehensive platform for research and practical training.
In talent cultivation, Yuan Ze promoted the “Corporate Academy,” co-establishing programs in semiconductors, optoelectronics, manufacturing, and management with companies such as Giga Solution, Coretronic, Far Eastern, and TSMC. Through the “Industrial Park Innovation Project,” the university also facilitated student internships, enhancing hands-on experience and employability, thus bridging academia and industry.
In addition, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center integrated campus resources to support students in applying for the NSTC “Entrepreneurship Seedling Program,” offering business model optimization, industry mentorship, and platforms for project demonstrations. Yuan Ze’s research achievements consistently received international recognition, with nearly 200 effective patents and four major awards at the IIP Outstanding Inventor Awards, reflecting the strong commercialization potential of its technologies.
Yuan Ze University would continue to integrate research capacity and industrial resources, deepen its industry-academia-research partnerships, and nurture globally competitive talents with a vision for sustainability, injecting innovative momentum into industrial upgrading and societal development.
