Yuan Ze University actively promotes bilingual education at the grassroots level and has received NT$10.1 million in funding from the Ministry of Education's Bilingual Digital Study Buddy Program.
Through this initiative, outstanding YZU students serve as "university buddies," providing remote English lessons to nearly 150 elementary school students in Taoyuan City. This year, the program achieved a total of 3,200 minutes of instruction, delivering remarkable learning outcomes.
Just before Christmas, the elementary school participants were invited to step beyond the virtual classroom and visit Yuan Ze University to meet their university buddies in person. The event was attended by Taoyuan City Government Secretary-General Wen Tai-Hsin and Deputy Director of the Department of Education Lin Wei-Chih, who offered words of encouragement to all the participants. The gathering was lively and heartwarming, showcasing the program's success in fostering bilingual skills and meaningful connections.
