Students from the Department of Art and Design at Yuan Ze University recently participated in the “2026 Emerging Artists Exhibition – Recommended Outstanding Graduates from Departments of Art,” which had officially opened at the Dadun Cultural Center in Taichung. The exhibition brought together outstanding graduation works from 16 art-related departments across 13 universities in Taiwan, presenting the diverse artistic perspectives and creative energy of a new generation of artists. The works of Yuan Ze students, characterized by the integration of art and design across disciplines, received high praise from faculty members and visitors.
A total of 10 students from Yuan Ze University participated in the exhibition, including Hsuan Li, Pin-Hsin Lin, Hsun-Chia Lin, Hui-Lin Yuan, Chih-Yu Kuo, Yung-Ti Liang, Hsiao-Ching Huang, Yu-Yun Li, Yu-Hsuan Tsai, and Yu-Ju Lai. To prepare for the joint exhibition, instructors Chia-Ling Kuo and Hung-Chih Wang had guided students in artwork selection and exhibition planning since the end of the previous semester. Through multiple individual consultations, they assisted students in refining their creative concepts, exhibition formats, and spatial arrangements.
In addition, Chia-Ling Kuo invited industry professionals to conduct workshops on exhibition installation, lighting design, and artwork packaging. This allowed students to extend their learning from artistic creation to exhibition practice, gaining comprehensive experience in exhibition presentation and interdisciplinary application.
After the opening of the exhibition, the works of Yuan Ze students stood out for their combination of artistic thinking and design vocabulary, demonstrating strong abilities in material application and conceptual integration. These works received widespread positive feedback from faculty members of art-related departments from various universities as well as the general public. The university noted that the “Emerging Artists Exhibition” had long served as a major joint exhibition platform for art-related departments across Taiwan and had become an important reference for senior high school students when choosing fields of study in the arts.
The Department of Art and Design at Yuan Ze University had long emphasized a balanced approach to artistic creation, design thinking, and practical application. Through courses in exhibition planning, spatial practice, material exploration, and interdisciplinary integration, the department cultivated students’ abilities to respond to future developments in the art industry and creative environments. The creative and practical experiences accumulated by students during their studies had also become an important foundation for their future engagement in the fields of art, design, and culture.
In addition to participating in the “2026 Emerging Artists Exhibition,” the 16th Graduation Exhibition of the Department of Art and Design at Yuan Ze University, titled “Valid Proof: An Ongoing Silent Process,” was scheduled to be held from June 7 to June 21, 2026, at Warehouse No. 3 and Warehouse No. 11 of the Chung Yuan Cultural and Creative Park.
The graduation exhibition, themed “Valid Proof,” responded to students’ continuous exploration and reflection on the relationships among self, materials, and reality during the creative process. In addition to presenting the final works, the exhibition also preserved traces of the creative process and lines of thought, allowing audiences to gain a deeper understanding of young artists’ observation, practice, and growth in artistic learning.
Through diverse media and various forms of artistic expression, the exhibition also showcased how the new generation of creators responded to personal experiences, social environments, and contemporary art issues, highlighting the achievements of the Department of Art and Design at Yuan Ze University in long-term art education and creative practice.
