Yuan Ze University actively promoted internationalized education. With its high-quality teaching environment, innovative interdisciplinary curriculum design, and comprehensive international talent cultivation system, it had attracted students from around the world and continuously expanded its global influence through a strong alumni reputation.
Tran Viet Cuong, an alumnus from Vietnam and currently the head of FCT Yongsheng Co., Ltd., stood as a testament to the University’s achievements in international education.
Tran Viet Cuong learned in 2019 that Yuan Ze University had established an overseas EMBA program in Vietnam and immediately decided to apply, becoming one of the first students in the inaugural class to complete registration. At that time, there were only two Vietnamese students in the class, and he was elected by his peers as the deputy class representative. After completing his studies in 2022, he deeply felt the impact of Yuan Ze University’s education, which not only broadened his international perspective but also led him to redefine his life and career path.
Recalling his academic journey, Tran Viet Cuong noted that one of Yuan Ze University’s greatest strengths lay in the close interaction between faculty and students, as well as the equal emphasis on theory and practice. During his studies, he engaged extensively with professors and gained valuable insights. In particular, the dedicated guidance of his thesis advisor, Hsiang-Hsun Wu, enabled him to achieve significant growth in research capability, managerial thinking, and career planning. In addition, classmates from diverse professional backgrounds became valuable learning partners. Through classroom discussions and experience sharing, he accumulated rich professional networks and practical knowledge, fully demonstrating the value of interdisciplinary learning in the EMBA program.
Recognizing the University’s educational philosophy, Tran Viet Cuong shared his experience with his family. In 2022, his son, Duc-Minh Tran, enrolled in the English-taught bachelor’s program at the College of Management of Yuan Ze University. Although Duc-Minh Tran had originally planned to pursue further studies in Europe and had also received admission offers from well-known universities and medical schools in Vietnam, he ultimately chose to study in Taiwan after gaining a deeper understanding of Yuan Ze University’s internationalized environment and full English curriculum.
During his studies, Duc-Minh Tran not only received professional training in an English-medium environment but also participated in a student exchange program in Germany, gaining valuable international learning experience. After returning to Taiwan, he continued to strengthen his professional competence and was successfully admitted this year to the Graduate Institute of Finance at National Taiwan University, demonstrating the strong academic performance and competitiveness of Yuan Ze University students.
In 2024, Tran Viet Cuong’s daughter, Minh-Chau Tran, also chose to pursue higher education in Taiwan. She visited several well-known universities in Taiwan and received full scholarship offers from both National Chengchi University and Yuan Ze University. After careful consideration, she identified with Yuan Ze University’s teaching characteristics, international campus environment, and the support and care provided by faculty members, ultimately choosing to join the Yuan Ze community.
Tran Viet Cuong emphasized that what made Yuan Ze University truly attractive was not only its comprehensive teaching resources and international environment, but also the dedication of its professors and its emphasis on innovation and practical application. From his own experience to that of his children, Yuan Ze University provided not just academic advancement, but also a broad expansion of life perspectives and future opportunities.
Over the years, Tran Viet Cuong had continued to recommend Yuan Ze University to relatives, friends, and outstanding students in Vietnam. Several Vietnamese students had chosen to study at Yuan Ze as a result of his recommendations, and six more applications from relatives’ children were expected this year, continuing this trust in the University’s educational quality.
As educational exchanges between Taiwan and Vietnam had grown increasingly close, Vietnamese students had become an important source of international students at Yuan Ze University. From one EMBA student to an entire family becoming part of the Yuan Ze community, the story of Tran Viet Cuong’s family not only demonstrated the success of the University’s efforts in international education, but also reflected the strong reputation built through quality teaching, global engagement, and holistic education. This reputation continued to attract outstanding talents from around the world to study and develop in Taiwan, injecting new momentum into the internationalization of higher education.
