The results of the 115th National Student Association Achievement Exhibition were announced, and Yuan Ze University’s Student Association delivered an outstanding performance. Standing out among numerous participating universities nationwide, the Student Association not only received the Annual Distinctive Features Award, Excellence Award, and Model Award, but was also selected as a National Model University for Student Self-Governance.
Only two universities in the national university category were granted this honor, fully demonstrating Yuan Ze University’s exemplary achievements and leading position in the development and practice of student self-governance.
The achievements presented by the Yuan Ze University Student Association covered multiple dimensions. In advancing campus issues, the Association actively collected student opinions, provided constructive recommendations on key institutional policies, and established stable communication platforms to facilitate dialogue between students and the University administration. In terms of safeguarding student rights and interests, the Association consistently focused on issues related to the learning environment, housing, and campus life, while offering institutionalized channels for appeals and assistance to ensure comprehensive support for students.
With regard to organizational operations and institutional development, the Student Association had established a well-structured internal governance framework, featuring clear divisions of responsibility, standard operating procedures, and transparent decision-making mechanisms. In financial management, it implemented open and transparent budgeting and review systems, thereby enhancing the efficiency of resource utilization and strengthening public trust. Furthermore, through the optimization of electoral procedures and the enhancement of participation mechanisms, the Association encouraged greater student involvement in self-governance affairs, reinforcing the democratic foundations of the campus.
Student Association President You-Cheng Lin stated that the achievements were not the result of short-term efforts, but rather the culmination of long-term dedication by successive generations of student leaders. He emphasized that the honor belonged to every partner who had contributed to the Student Association. Looking ahead, the team would continue to refine institutional frameworks and improve service quality, deepen student participation, and bring about more positive changes to the campus community.
Faculty Advisor Hsiu-Chu Lin noted that student self-governance was a vital component of higher education. Through hands-on participation, students were able to cultivate democratic literacy, communication skills, and a strong sense of public responsibility. She added that the awards represented tangible outcomes of long-term commitment and highlighted Yuan Ze University’s solid foundation in guiding student self-governance and nurturing future leaders.
Yi-Chun Liu, Dean of Student Affairs, remarked that the Yuan Ze University Student Association had distinguished itself in the national competition through a high level of professionalism and mature operations. The recognition, she said, reflected students’ willingness to assume public responsibility and not only showcased the accomplishments of student self-governance initiatives, but also embodied the University’s long-standing emphasis on student participation and holistic education. She further stated that the University would continue to provide resources and guidance to support the development of student self-governance, encourage engagement with public issues, foster a more participatory and cohesive campus environment, and amplify the positive influence of the younger generation.
